My wife & I live
in a small, suburban housing development in Folsom,
California, which is about 25 miles east of Sacramento,
at the base of the Sierra Nevada foothills. The
summers here get hot (90-110F; 32-43C) and the growing
season is long (8-9 months). We enjoy growing and
eating fresh fruits and vegetables, but have a small
backyard, so we try to make the most of it. We are
not expert gardeners by any means, and do most of our
learning through some research then lots of trial and
error.
